Flight Path for Blackberry Storm

Flight Path
v1.11 by Tafasa

Are you ready to put yourself in the pilot’s seat? The goal of the game is to fly your plane through the center of the rings coming at you. You get points for every ring you fly through, and the closer you get to the center of the ring, the more points you get. When you fly through a ring, you will be evaluated on a scale of Perfect, Good and Sloppy. Get a lot of Perfects or Goods in a row, and you will build up your score multiplier which will give you even more points! It’s not that easy though, because the game ends once you miss three rings. There’s also another catch. The rings keep getting smaller the longer you fly! To fly, hold the BlackBerry like a steering wheel and rotate left and right. The more you rotate, the faster your plane will turn. How high of a score can you get?

Music Players - Part Two

April 7th, 2009 admin

Most phones (regular or smartphones) that you buy come with some sort of music player. These music players typically work for a majority of the population. Then there are the people like me that want to see what all the options available are…

So I bring you a review of some of the FREE music players that are available on the internet – in all three categories – Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and Blackberry.

(Remember: What you see below is just my opinion. I encourage everyone reading this to try out all the options and make an informed decision for themselves!)

For part 2 of my “Music Player” series I will cover a few programs for blackberry.

Blackberry: Options available – xPlayer and BerryTunes.

xPlayer

When I first looked at the program, I had thoughts that it was some sort of DOS looking program, without all the fancy shiny buttons like you would see in a Windows or Palm app.  Aside from the look of it, I did see it as a solid performer.

Packed with a long lis of files that it supports, it then reminded me of a combination of VLC player (Windows / Linux) and TCPMP (Palm and Windows Mobile).  It supports mp3, m4a, avi, mp4, 3gp, wma, amr, mid, wav - Therefore making it also great for watching video.

Unfortunately xPlayer was the only FREE alternative Media Player for Blackberry that I could find.  Luckily I can say that I enjoyed using it and would reccomend it to anyone looking for an alternative to the built in blackberry player.

If anyone has other suggestions for a FREE, or Open Source blackberry music player, post it in the comments and I will check it out!

Overall Winner: xPlayer

TalkLock™ (BETA) Touch Screen Lock for Blackberry Storm

March 18th, 2009 admin

TalkLock is available for download from http://www.cellavant.com/TalkLock/

Are you annoyed by the BlackBerry® Storm™ touch screen remaining active during a call? Frustrated with accidental screen presses activating programs while you talk?

CellAvant has the answer… TalkLock. This free utility automatically engages a few seconds after a call is connected, and intercepts touch screen actions. This prevents screen presses from launching programs or invoking functions while you talk.

When the call ends for any reason, TalkLock releases control of the screen until your next call. You can also disable the lock and return to your normal phone behavior at any time by swiping your finger across the screen from left to right.

Features include:

* Automatically runs after installation, and on each reboot
* Automatically activates after phone calls are connected
* Automatically hides when phone calls are completed
* Manual unlock with “slide to unlock” function
* Menu item to re-engage lock after unlock
* Customizeable backround image (uses /home/user/TalkLock-Background.png if it exists under Device Memory)
