PIM is a FREE Windows Mobile backup utility. This simple backup tool allows a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 user to backup and restore contacts, appointments, tasks, messages, calls and other personal information residing on windows mobile based pocket devices. The user can choose to backup Windows Mobile information in binary or text based formats. The Binary backup method is the most reliable, however the text based backup method allows the user to easily see and edit or modify the backed up contents.

Most phones (regular or smartphones) that you buy come with some sort of music player. These music players typically work for a majority of the population. Then there are the people like me that want to see what all the options available are…
So I bring you a review of some of the FREE music players that are available on the internet – in all three categories – Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and Blackberry.
(Remember: What you see below is just my opinion. I encourage everyone reading this to try out all the options and make an informed decision for themselves!)
I will start with Windows Mobile.
Windows Mobile: Options available – WinVibe and MortPlayer.

WinVibe
My first impression was that it looked like a Mobile version of the desktop program Winamp. (Actually the classic version of Winamp.) I also made the mistake of downloading the wrong one for my device. For the Treo 700w/wx you would be looking for the QVGA. VGA is for a larger screen than the Treo has, and the W in WVGA stands for Wide – which is MUCH wider.
Once I got the correct version installed (again QVGA – Which stands for Quarter VGA) I was all set. Opening audio files was as simple as hitting the eject looking icon, and I found the it had the added options for auto-selecting subfolders, and having it choose to open the same folder on startup.
The part of it that I didn’t like as much, is that the player seems to take an extended amount of time to load the program, actually 3 to 5 seconds. It might seem like a trivial amount of time, but compared to the alternative program (and the default Windows Media Player) it was a long time. ALSO, I didn’t like the default keyboard controls, but (in it’s defense) it has a crazy amount of custom settings that allow you to keymap it any way you want.

MortPlayer
Right off the bat I had a hard time with this app because I kept thinking of Mort from Family Guy. How can a program be great with a name like Mort. (Sorry to all the Morts out there!). My first impression was WAAAY off. I love almost everything about this program. From the look of it, to the multiple options that are available wit the interface (Car View, Playlist View, etc). It has made it’s way into my “must-have list of Windows Mobile Apps!
Overall Winner: MortPlayer
